Welcome to the first Malaysia Yoga Festival. This marks a growing interest of yoga in this country. We have seen how much yoga has grown, and is growing and the diversity of yoga knowledge. Each and every teacher and their styles are unique. We respect and celebrate the diversity. This festival is to bring yoga practitioners together and foster a greater yoga spirit. This will inspires and motivate people to continue and appreciate their practise. Last but not least, it will provide insight on how yoga can be practise in so many different ways.

Morning Session 1

Hatha Yoga Pranayama - Healing Breathing techniques - (Deepak)
A powerful practice of a set of  yoga breathing techniques. Breath is power and if you know how to use this power you can be more energetic. Here you will ride on the breath to know deeper about how your body and mind connected with breath?  just by Practice these simple methods you can achieve a beautiful body and relax mind.


Backbend - Say yes to life (Foo)
Come with an open heart to experience the backbend poses in a fun and safe atmosphere. Using the Anusara’s Universal Principles of Alignment and intelligent sequencing, you will be guided into a wide range of backbends. Say yes to this offering and experience your greatest heart opening potential.

Ashtanga First Series (Manoj)
Based on the traditional Ashtanga, Manoj will take you through the exact Ashtanga Vinyasa method of Mysore, India, which invovles a coordinated effort based on breathing, gazing points and precise countring for each movement. Open to All Levels.



Afternoon Session 1

Manasa Yoga Vinyasa (Manoj)
Based on a vinyasa methodology, Manoj will guide you through a vinyasa practice where your awareness will be radiantly present in each moment of each movement. Open to All Levels.

Tripsichore Yoga (Belinda)
Tripsichore Yoga is a modern style of Vinyasa Yoga that blends the choreographed movements of dance and theatre, with the techniques and disciplines of yoga. Created by Edward Clark in 1992, Tripsichore Yoga is a beautiful, artistic balance of breath, movement and asanas, on stage as well as on the mat. Come and explore the fluidity and grace of Tripsichore Yoga with Belinda Wong in this creative and energizing vinyasa yoga class.

Restorative yoga (Deepak)
A peaceful and loving ancient yoga practice with combination of delicate yoga breathing to understand the inner harmony .yoga has wisdom to understand the human nature and how that wisdom can change the basic human emotion from pain to pleasure ,sadness to happiness, sorrow to joy and  misery to bliss .



Afternoon Session 2

Almbalance & Inversion (Belinda)
Expect a powerful and challenging practice of advanced vinyasa movement (not to mention lots of sweat)! Join Belinda Wong as she leads you in a practice, sprinkled with arm balances, deep back bends and transiting into a variety of inversions like headstands and handstands.
Level : Strong Intermediate and Advanced

InspiredAcro Yoga - Knowing you knowing me (Foo&Junko)
InspiredAcro Yoga is a fun way to discover yourself and your partner better. It’s interesting to learn how your action and influence can change the dynamic of each pose. You will learn to cultivates trust, build strength and flexibility. No experience is necessary.

Yin Yang Yoga (Angie)
Life requires balance. For every down, there is an up; for every outside, there is an inside. Yoga also require balance. If you are only doing the "yang" style of yoga, the active muscular forms, it may be time to discover the missing half - the "yin" style of yoga that works the deep tissues, energy body and mind/body.
Come and join Angie and experience exercising yin tissues in a yin way and yang tissues in a yang way and feel the difference.

Morning Session 1

Ashtanga Second Series (Manoj)
Named Naishodana, this series is for those who are comfortable with the primary series. Sequence involves new deep hip opening positions and deep back bends. Open to Experienced Practitioners.

Gentle Flow Yoga (Eric Ching)
Gentle flow yoga is suitable for all levels of practitioners with varying abilities and body types. A soothing style of practice, it will focus on an exploration of basic yoga poses and how to connect them through attention to breathing, alignment and mindfulness. With a relaxing, slower pace, gentle flow yoga is therapeutic in nature and aims to increase flexibility whilst allowing the practitioner plenty of time to enjoy each posture in the sequence. Ending in a little meditation and relaxation, gentle flow yoga is great for overall well-being and perfect for the release of the stresses of modern life.

Hip Expension - Bloosoming of a lotus (Foo)
Using Anusara’s Principles of Alignment will make your yoga practice more enjoyable and accessible for even the most reluctant hips. In this session you will learn how to expand and create freedom for your lower body to unfold into hamumasana(front split), and perhaps even bringing your legs over the head.


Morning Session 2

Yoga for Anti Ageing (Deepak)
Yoga helps to restore the youthness… how? That’s what we are going to give you. A sequence of Energetic yoga postures which will care your Joints, Digestive system, Endocrine glands ,Energy level and will leave a lightness in you . Regardless of your calendar-age learn how to get rid of premature wrinkles, and keep a smooth skin and clear complexion.

Alignment (Belinda)
The Yoga Basics class is recommended for those who are new to yoga, or who have just started their practice. This level will have emphasis on the basic alignment principles, to create a strong and safe foundation for your yoga practice. Belinda Wong will be teaching standing yoga poses, forward bends, twists and counter-poses. Attending this class will help you experience the correct technique required to build the flexibility and strength required in a yoga practice.
Level : Beginners or new to yoga

InspiredAcro Yoga -Fly Away- (Foo&Junko)
Like a leapt of faith, you need to trust your partner even more. Letting go and transitioning is never easy but with the support of a team, impossibility becomes a reality. In this class you will learn how to transition and also work some arm balances like handstand. Expect to turn your world upside down and inside out. Prepare to have lots of fun and see your how this helps your regular yoga practice.

Foo is a very active guy and loves sports. His first contact with yoga was in the gym. Initially, he just wanted to improve his flexibilty but eventually, he fell in love with yoga as it stretches not only his body but also the mind. His early training was with various teachers, teaching various styles, namely Asthanga, Sivananda and also Iyenger. Later he took up a Yoga Diploma Course from Kevala Centre, UK. Few years ago he had stumbled upon Anusara Yoga and he has the privilege to study under Desiree Rumbaugh for the past 2 years. At the same time, he continues to attend Anusara Yoga workshops conducted by Noah Maze, Amy Ippoliti, etc at every opportunity. Currently, he is teaching Anusara yoga classes. Foo is also passionate about acroyoga and had the opportunity to learn from Marc Bauchet. He practises acroyoga with his regular partner, Junko. Manoj Kaimal

Manoj Kaimal is the Founder and Guru of Manasa Yoga. When most eight-year-olds were busily pursuing diverse hobbies, Manoj was introduced to the discipline of yoga by his grandparents. Besides the practice of Asanas, Manoj was acquainted with all aspects of Yoga philosophy, including the Yoga Sutras and Upanishads, by his grandfather, Sridhara Kaimal, who remained a source of inspiration throughout Manoj’s life. From this solid grounding, Manoj refined his knowledge by spending time with various leading teachers in the Yoga tradition. In 2002, Manoj founded Manasa Yoga, a practice which enables students to move from the concept of merely stretching the body to stretching the mind towards the infinite spirit and realign with the true self. Manoj conducts a 200-Hour and 500-Hour Teacher Training Course for senior students as well as regular workshops on Asanas and Yoga philosophy. Manoj was also a presenter at the 2011 International Ayurveda and Yoga Conference in Rishikesh in February. To date, Manoj has authored two books: Celebration of Asanas (2007) and Making Patanjali Palatable (2008). He has also produced a range of CDs on asanas, philosophy and meditation. Belinda Wong

Belinda Wong has been actively practicing and teaching yoga for more than 9 years, empowering practitioners everywhere to transform their lives through mindfulness and dedication. Trained under Vincent Tam of Jiva Yoga, Belinda has also studied with great teachers like Edward Clark, Noah Maze, Desiree Rumbaugh, Peter Scott, Andrey Lappa, Amy Ippoliti, and Louisa Sears, to name a few.
Belinda’s devotion to a strong and consistent self-practice across many yoga disciplines like Iyengar, Anusara, Ashtanga and Tripsichore, makes her a sought-after teacher, as distinguished by her extensive knowledge of the relationship between the body and yogasanas.
She is recognized for her down-to-earth teaching approach, clear instructions, vibrant energy and her ability to assist and inspire practitioners of all levels in achieving personal breakthroughs in their yoga practice.

Deepak (B. Psychology) is more fondly known as Deep,hails from India . He began his journey into yoga in 1994, and followed the manner of traditional yogis in learning the art and science of yoga by learning at Tapovan Dhyan Dham Vidhyapeeth, a classical yoga ashram located at the foothills of the Himalayas . Thereafter, he pursued the advanced yoga teacher training course at the world renowned Kaivalyadhama Yoga Institute. He is trained on various styles and aspects of yoga for the purpose of health, healing and rejuvenation. Apart from teaching at various yoga centers, Deep is also a Corporate Yoga Trainer, and has conducted over 100 workshops. He has unique specialty to give teacher training programs till now in Malaysia, India and Thailand he has given teacher training courses and has trained more than 50 students who are successful teachers now.  He specializes in mind-body medicine and has had the opportunity to observe how psychosocial stressors as anxiety, depression, anger, pain or relationship problems can affect cardio-pulmonary, gastroenterological, immunity, and practically every biological function. He believes we can utilize mind-body techniques such as yoga postures, breathing exercises and laughter therapy for mental-physical relaxation and stress management. Junko Kominami

Junko playfully weaves alignment, dynamic and creative sequencing with her humorous instructions. Her classes are fun, joyful and emotionally connected while deeply rooted in the Universal Principles of Anusara Yoga. She has studied under many teachers like Amy Ippolity, Noah Maze, etc. but her biggest influence is Desiree Rumbaugh, whom she has the opportunity to learn from over 2 years. Angie Teh

Angie began practising yoga since 2004. She was hooked after experiencing her 1st yoga class at Manasa Yoga. It was simply "love at 1st sight"! She had no reservations about changing her career path and decided to go all way out to pursue her passion for the ancient practice of yoga.
She studied various types of yoga styles and widen her knowledge and skills with renowned teachers like Simon Borg, Duncan Wong, Ann Barros, Karin O Bannon, Jonathan Urla, Desiree Rumbaugh, Amy Ipolitti, Kirk Martin and Victor Ch'ng, to name a few. She is also trained in Stott pilates matwork and ISP (Injury & Special Populations).
Her gentle style of teaching reflects her respect for the individual needs and abilities of each student. She emphasizes the proper use of breath and alignment to encourage a safe and playful practice. Angie feels that one of the greatest gift of being a teacher is seeing students progressed well physically, mentally and emotionally through their yoga practices.

Eric Ching

Eric began his yoga practice in his teenage years. Finding his true calling in the practice of yoga, Eric embarked on an intense course of study and has become one of the youngest to successfully obtain certification as a yoga instructor in Kuala Lumpur. He has concentrated on teaching yoga fully since 2009. Since then, he has participated in conducting several workshops and retreats in addition to a regular teaching schedule. He finds much joy in yoga and would like to share this discovery with everyone.
